Women sent as delegates, to the number of 254, with officers of the national, and superintendents, organizers, secretaries editors and publishers, making in all 887 who were members proper of the convention, and with these a great host of visitors from near and distant states and cities, and altogether forming a great, a notablo aud most wise and worthy company, more than filling the largest church building in that city, and overflow meetings were a necessity, even while the real business of the convention was going ou. The secretary's report shows, based on the payment of auxiliary unions, 7,864, comprising a niembershipof young woman's branch auxiliaries, 7o(i, membership, loyal temperance legions, 2,887, with and Boltos, and daughter Elizabeth in 1862, and died in Washington territory in 1875 Her father served in the revolutionary war Of his own children three died in iufanoy, in the early part of his settlement here, and four sous and three daughters, with their mother, survive him. Of these the eldest, Jesse, resides at Berwick, Roy in Sabetha, Louis aud Bert are on farms near Berwick, Ollie (Mrs. John Trees) is living near Sabetha, and two daughters, Callie and Minnie, are at home with their mother.

Callie Jand Ollie were well known teachers in the county. His health has been poor for some time, and he suffered much all the past summer, being confiued to his bed most of the time for more than four months previous to his death. His family and friends did all that was possible to alleviate his sufferings. The greatest part of" the immediate care, however, fell upon his daughter Callie, who was ever patient tender aud careful in her attention to his wants, never failing for an instant in her faithful and devoted care for him. The funeral services, conducted by W.
