CLYDE, KANSAS. 'Death loves a shining mark." The above statement is verified in the death of Charley Ross, infant son of E. F. and Lottie Maxam, which occurred Thursday, October the 22nd. at 5 o'clock a.

m. Little Charley was a bright loving babe of 14 months and had been a sufferer for several months A short time ago he was attacked with scarlet'fever and all that medical skill and kind loving care could do proved to be of no avail, and on last Thursday morning death, that sat as. a silent watcher, arose and passed between him and the weeping mortals, that had for a few weeks defied him, and wrapped his black winding sheet around him and bore him in triumph away. At about 3 o'clock of the same day a large procession of friends and relatives followed the remains to Mt. Ilope cemetery where they were placed in their last resting place Sweet little Charlie has gone To that blissful home'above.

Where he will bask in the sunlight Of the blessed Savior's love. He has gone to dwell with the angels, That so gladly welcomed him there. Tenderly sheltered in his blissful fold.

We shall miss him, but we'll meet him When our earthly work is done; In his spotless robe we'll greet him On the resurrection Weep not father, weep not mother, He has bid this world adieu, And stands at the head to welcome you.
