The oil producers in the Mid-continent oil fields were gladdened Monday when the Prairie Oil Gas Co. increased the price of crude oil 5 cents on the barrel, making the price now 93 cents. This is the first advance of any kind since anuary and the lar gest advance in 8, years. One reason given for the raise is the resumption off. work at the Standard Oil's big refinery at Sugar Creek, the supreme court of that state having allowed the company to continue in business.

We understand that the John- Carl Oil which has drilled two wells on the J. P. Stark, will drill two more holes soon on tne LaForce- lease, which ad joins the Sutton and Burns. No. 2 on-Weber was drilled jn yesterday by Davis et al and will be shot to-day (Friday).

It is 400 feet South of No. 1 and shows up as well or better. last week in regard to the well on Megonigle South of the Sim mons pool. The rig was not moved until this week: Sheets Jackson's test on the Huffman land in Sorghum Hoi- low was drilled in this week and is reported to be a dry hole. W.

Joe, Mo. pitched a fine game for Elk City. The evening program consist ed of a band concert and li reworks. All during the day the band had been giving music at ntervals and we heard many compliments on their playing. All in all it was a successful cele- ration and we believe that the isitors enjoyed it.

Obituary. Hannah Jane Ford was born in Rush County, Ind, January 5, 833 and died June 21, 1913; aged over 80 years. She was married Ohio to A. J. Buchanan in 608 and to this union one child was born which died'm infancy.
