THEORY AND PRACTISE. 1 I 'a LAND IN CANADA AN INVESTMENT QKLAHDMAGITYwlNS For Infante and Children. GOVERNOR HASKELL TAKES UP HIS NEW LOCATION. WORK IT, AND SECURE 20 PER CENT. ON THE EXPENDITURE.

Farm lands in Canada increased in value this Spring from fifteen to twenty per cent, and as a result of this increase thousands of those who havn gone there within the past few years have had that much more value added Csw Bmokl I Kind You Have Bought Bears the Signature of THt CKMTAUII OOHPAMT. There is proof here that as a field for investment there is nowhere, to be found a more profitable one than in purchasing farm lands in Canada. And, as a field for occupation and working the farms there is nowhere on the continent where more satisfactory, return is given. The crops are always sure and the prices are always good. With railroads entering and traversing all the settled parts, there are very few districts in which the farmer will be more than from ten to twelve miles from railway station. Roads are good, and big loads are easily handled.

The price of getting grain to the primary market is low on this account, and then in reaching the world's markets the railways have their rates controlled by the Government, and what may be considered a fair deal is certain. Good prices for all kinds of grain is the rule, and if the investor has made good money by the increased value given to his unworked land, it is not difficult to understand that the profit to the man who works his land is just that much more, and there will be no depreciation. The man who holds a free homestead of one hundred and sixty acres of land, which he got for as an entry fee, has land which at its lowest estimate is worth an acre yes, $15 an acre the moment he has completed his three years' residence duties. It will continue to increase in value until its, earning power givs a reasonable interest on a certain sum. That is, if he takes off the land fifteen to twenty dollars per acre clear profit each year, his land is worth to him, at a fair rate of interest, $200 an acre.

If he only realizes $10 an acre clear profit, it is worth $100 per acre. Now, thou-gands of farmers are duplicating these figures. The price of land in Canada to-day is much less than its realizing value. The fact that the fifty thou sand Americans who went to Canada year before last were followed by one hundred thousand last year offers some evidence, and good evidence, too, that there is getting to be a pretty fair knowledge that -money is to be made in Canada lands. As an investment money is to be made, but more by living upon the land, secured either by home stead or purchase.

The one hundred thousand of last year will be one hundred and fifty thousand this year. These comprise people from every state in the Union, and it is just being realized the asset that awaits the homeseeker in Canada. The large numbers that have gone, though, makes no appreciable difference in the supply of land. There is still left vast quantities of the best of it. But the longer a delay is made in arriving at a decision, the price will advance proportionately, and the more desirable homesteads near the railway lines become more difficult to secure.

GUTHRIE GETS Majority for Permanent New Location and Oklahoma City Estimated at From 30,000 to 40,000 Rail-road Amendment Killed. Oklahoma City. With few exceptions all late returns received by the Oklahoma City Capital committee from official source have increased the majority for the bill and Oklahoma City.

Sidney L. Brock, president of the Chamber of Commerce, who has been in, touch with practically every source of information today, places the majority for the bill at 30,000. The Daily Oklahoman's latest estimate is 45.000. This estimate is based on nearly complete returns received from 72 of the 76 counties. The same figures indicate that the proposition to amend the state constitution in order that railroad restrictions might be less stringent was defeated by 35,000 to 40,000.

The Guthrie committee is quoted as claiming a victory by 30,000 on the theory that the rural vote has not been reported. Shawnee is reported to have admitted a victory for Ihe bill. Governor Haskell and his secretary came here from Tulsa early today on a special train and are domiciled at the i-ee Huckins Hotel. Several other state officers, including Secretary of "State Bill Cross, are here and it is current rumor that Oklahoma City has been made the seat of government. The bill was initiated by 42,000 electors throughout the.

state and under the initiative and referendum law is a part of the statute and that it is held by competent lawyers without proclamation by the gover nor. It is estimated, howevr, that Governor Haskell will issue a proclamation declaring the bill carried. What will happen thereafter is speculation. One of the state officers, included in 'the injunction issued at Guthrie, is William Linn, secretary of the state election board. A Gutnne officer failed to get service on Linn last night and it is rumored that his board will open headquarters here Monday.

It is safe to assert that strong influence is being brought to bear on Governor Haskell to imme-- diately declare Oklahoma City the seat of government, but the governor is non-communicative. It was freely asserted that the governor would ignore a federal injunction should one be granted, on the theory that the federal government has no authority to interfere on the internal affairs of the state, but Guthrie's injunction was obtained in tstatc court. That court's officer followed nearly every state officer who came to Oklahoma City last night and obtained service on several of them. Oklahoma City's heaviest support came from the Fourth and Fifth Congressional districts, both Democratic. The total vote of Washita county was 2249 for Oklahoma City and 230 for Uutnris.

The total vote of Choctaw county was 1175 and for Guthrie 241. In the southeastern and southern parts of the state the vote for Oklahoma City was about three to one. In Rogers county, Third congressional district, Oklahoma city received 839 as against 175 for Guthrie. While in Delaware county same district, ABERNATHY BOYS END JOURNEY. On Bronchos They Ride up Broadway Ahead of Howling Citizens.

New York. Between files of cheer ing citizens, Louis and Temple Aber nathy rode up Broadway on the last stage of their 2,000 mile journey from Oklahoma. As their tired Bronchos' halted in front of the Hotel Breslin 1,000 persons joined in the final cheer. Jack Abernathy, United States for Oklahoma and proud father of the lads, hustled them to their rooms to prepare for dinner. From the moment they reached the city the little rough riders were the tenter of a continuous reception.

They rode off the ferry boat that brought them from Jersey City into a veritable mob. It took six mounted policemen to clear the way and a constantly growing crowd fell in behind. The purpose of the boys' long ride was to be in New York to Join In the welcome to Theodore Rooseveit on bis return. They began their long trip on April 16.
