Cline, one of the oldest newspaper men in Cloud county, made us a short call yesterday morning.

We found him a pleasant, courteous gentleman, and one with whom a person-can converse with perfect ease. Mr. C. is not at present connected with any paper, but a man who has made journalism a profession for twenty-five years is not apt to remain idle long. Bro.

Gregg returcd from Leavenworth last Saturday evening. Their visit was brought to an abrupt termination on account of the sudden indisposition of the husband and father of the ladies. J. Xeal, of Morganville, cast a pitjing glance at the remnants of his old friends here last Monday. There is no use talking, a man who once lives'in Miltonvale cannot stay away for any length of time. There seems to be a certain fascination that causes them to remember the town, and they never tire telling of the splendid days spent in the society of friends who are still here. Sid reports trade good in his new home, and we hope he will succeed far beyond his expectations.

J. W. McDonald sold his interest in the real estate, loan and insurance business last Mondaj' to McAr-thur. Mr. Me feels now like a ship at sea without a rudder, but he is too energetic to remain idle long.

We hope he may soon be able to engage in some lucrative business here, for he is too good a citizen to lose. We believe that the people will' find in Mr. McArthur a gentleman and a thorough business man, and although in the future he mav nrove tobeonite a formidable the Star, bids aim a ncarty welcome. J. Cline ha3 purchased the Miltonvale Mr. Cline is an old newspaperman and bears the reputation of being a clear, keen writer. We gladly welcome our new made fnend to town, and offer him our very best fraternal feelings.
