WHERE THEY PLAYED THE 4TH. THE above cut is a good likeness of the music man of Wichita. Mr. Shaw is the pioneer music dealer of Wichita, carries beyond reason of doubt the largest stock of musical merchandise in the state. He has lately given his special attention to the wants of band musicians, and to those who wish anything in the way of music or instruments, we would say: "Try Thomas Shaw." Music Butchers gave a celebration at McPherson. Nickerson Band gave a ball at Nick-erson. Kingman K. of P. Band at Anthony.

Caman's Military Band at Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Wooley's Band at St. John. Rome and Perth jointly at grove between each place. Milan Band at Milan.

SPECIAL CORRESPONDENCE. It is remarked by every one who hears our band now that we have one of the very best bands they have ever heard in a Kansas town. The boys play with perfect ease and the music they make is the very best. This town should be proud of its band. Every member of the band is working hard to make the band, rank with the best in the state and they are succeeding under the instruction of Prof.

Band and music news is rather scarce; too much harvest and warm weather. The Durham Bros, failed to materalize on the Fourth. Later advices, showed that the measles had the boys in its grip. The Fourth passed off quietly with small attendance at all celebrations The wheat crop demands the attention of the people. Woolley's band purchased a new flat bass and appeared for the first time on Patronize our advertisers, and when corresponding with them always mention having seen their "ad" in The Bandman..
