He is considered a very fine trombonist. J. H. Davis, late soloist of Liberati's Band, is now located in Peabody, and is teaching the Peabody Military Band. Jack is one of the finest cornetists in the state.

D. F. Piazzuk, manager of the Valley Falls Band, informs us that there is a good opening in his town for a good cornet and violin player who can lead and teach band and orchestra. J. H.

Davis, euphonium soloist, S. M. Cooley, Eb clarionet, and Signor Vincent Irolli, Bb clarionet Premier are recent acquisitions to Goetze's band with the Wallace shows. The Mexican Band 1 is touring the southern and western states on its way to the World's fair. At a recent engagement in Louisville, they taxed the capacity of the Masonic Temple.

Fred E. Butters has been re-engaged by C. B. Jefferson, Klaw Erlanger, as musical director, and to furnish the military band of twelve men for "The Country Circus." This is his second season with that company. Prof.

Richard Leandre Howes will give a violin recital at the opera house in Hutchinson in the near future. The music loving people of Hutchinson are promised a rare treat in this recital, as Prof. Howes has few equals, if any, on the violin in the west. Henry Rodman, of Kingman, a member of the K. of P.

band of that city, is now on the road with the Federal Captain playing Northern Kansas towns. Henry never fails to hustle a band out to play in front of the opera house in any of the towns he strikes. Cal. Davenport joined Griswold's Uncle Tom show as trombonist recently. Clark Hendryx of Wichita, has joined the Gentry Dog Show as trombonist.

Prof. Knoll and Marie McNeil are again visiting at their home in Erie, Pa. John Philip Sousa is composing the music of a comic opera for Francis Wilson. Liberati, assisted by Danz's orchestra, gave a concert in Minneapolis, Minn. on April 30.

H. W. Keller of Herrington, is leading the band with Griswold's Uncle Tom's Cabin tent show. Paderewski has overworked himself to such an extent this season that there are fears of his becoming insane. The New York Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Walter Damrosch, played to immense business in Montreal, April 24 and 25.

Mr. A. G. Ferguson, who has been playing trombone and violin with the "Si Plunkard" show, has closed with that' company and is now located at Clinton, Mo. Arthur Prior, of St.

Joseph, who is engaged as trombone soloist with Sousa's New Marine Band, was signed last season in the same capacity with Gil-more, but owing to some reason, better The Bandman is subscription price of ivell worth the small 50c per year..
