Brown's sale last Wednesday was well attended and everything brought good prices. They started to Idaho the first of the week. Oscar Odell and family of lola and Mrs. S. S.

Odell of Mapleton were guests at the J. Green home Friday. Mrs. Gardner and sons spent Sun day afternoon with Mrs. Green and (laughters.

Dennis Hansbrough visited Vernla Secrest Sunday afternoon. T. M. Gardner nas bought quite a number of young cattle lately. Mrs.

Clara Stewart, has been dangerously ill since Friday. Her son, J. and wife, were called from Allen county. Grandma Kepley remained with A. U.

Johnson's children last week while their parents visited In lola, Humboldt and Colony. Some of our people attended a surprise at D. F. Halls home Saturday night and report a grand time. A few from here attended a cemetery meeting at Dayton Friday.

Considerable work was done, attending to business, cleaning up the grounds, etc. W. P. Bowers transacted business at Devon. Monday and Tuesday.

M. Gardner sold some cattle to L. Kepley last week; also sold some yearling heifers to Ernest Brown Monday. F. G.

Leslie of Blue Mound passed through here Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Duzan went to Bronson Sunday. Several from here attended Holiness meeting at Poplar' Grove Sunday.

Miss Klniry spent Saturday and uSnday at home. Mr. Carpenter sold several bushels of apples, to E. Kendrick Tuesday. Fred Reeder gave his friends a farewell dance at his Poplar Grove home Friday evening.

A few from here were la atteendance. Carpenter transacted business at Brooks home, near Oakdale, Monday Ed Stewart and family were up' from Falrmount Friday evening. E. L. Kepley went to Fort Scott Thursday.

Wiley Byers returned from Humboldt for1 a few days' visit with home folks. Guy Talbott and Holly Chambers went to Fort Scott Tuesday to work In the Missouri Pacific shops.

For various Teasons Miss Georgia Shock's party- was indefinitely postponed. Jess Graham and Mr, Barns of Hep ler attended divine service at Gibson Sunday. The Gibson crowd attended band concert in Hepler Saturday evening. a fine time Is reported. Misses Pearl Georgia Shoclf, Bertha Johnson and May Bailey of Pe tersburg, attended preaching at Gibson Sunday.

i After a months' visit with her par ents in Missouri, Mrs. Low returned home Saturday. The Gibson Sunday school expects to be represented at the Sunday school convention next Sunday at Rockford valley. Mrs. Bolinger and granddaughter, of Redfleld, spent Saturday evening and Sunday with her daughter, Mrs.

Veich Byers. Meisenheimer and daughter were shopping in Fort Scott Tuesday. Mr. Henry Bolinger and family of Green valley neighborhood were visitors at Clayton Libby's Sunday. Mr.

Tom Johnson- Sundayed at Mr. Frank Murray's. Mrs. Clayton Kennedy was the guest of her father, Mr. Franz, last Sunday.

Mr. Douglas Hammond accompa nied Miss Ada Talbott to church Sun day evening. Mr. Edward Joiner was a week-end visitor at Mrs. VanArsdale's.

Miss Emma VanArsdale and gentle- iran friend called at Wm. Marsh's recently: Karl Talbott is spending the week in Fort Scott. Vert Wortman has the snooping cough proper. ROUTE ONE. Ben Johnson loaded a car of bay last week, i Mrs.

Jennie Davis is spending a few days with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kistler, while her husband, Don Davis, formerly of this vicinity but now of lola, is looking over the country about Eldorado and farther west, in view of locating there.

Mr. Case, who owns the farm known as the Rust farm, is preparing to build quite a large barn on the premises and has commenced hauling the lumber for same, the barn will be 32x48 feet and will add very much to the convenience of the farm, as well as the looks. 7 Bud Neil, who has' been' living on the Pet BUncoe place for some years, has bought a farm, north of town and will move on the same in the spring. Dr. Robinson is making some Im provements on his farm that is, build ing an addition to the house.

Mr. Cox is doing the carpenter work. Mr. Miner is in Kansas City, looking up the stock market. Miss Lelah Clelland has been visiting friends in Chanute, lola and other places.

She has returned to Fort Scott to visit friends and relatives for a few days, after which she returns home. Fieldie Huss and wife are visiting relatives at Brazilton and Englevale this week. Far-lington came up to play our team, as onr boys had given them their two out oi three, taking two of them on Far-Ungton's Farlington came prepared to get this game, and they got it.
