To-night settles the matter of eating SO quails in 30 consecutive days. To the mass of the people, this appears an easy thing to aeeomplish-many, perhaps, desiring an opportunity similar to that offered Mr. Reid. In order to satisfy the curiosity of the public, the Sentinel reporter visited Mr. Reid at hi3 store on Scott avenue, to learn if there was anything difficult or strange in this apparently simple undertaking.

Mr. Re informed the reporter that the accomplishment of the feat has been a difficult one. When about half through he began to lose his relish for the quail. At the eighteenth the meat was insipid; and since that time the breast of quail has been as tasteless as wood, and almost as difficult to digest. Mr.

Ried says he believes that almost any man, with good digestive organs, who will not allow bis mind to overcome him, can accomplish the task, but believes he could make some men vomit during a trial, by simply holding before them a quail feather. It Is said that within the last few days small pin feathers have made their appearance under the arms and upon portions of Mr. Reid's that often during conversation, a whistling sound similar to "bob white," escapes from his throat. The extreme modesty of the reporter forbade him questioning Mr. Reid upon this point, and of course we will not vouch for the truth of this statement.

To-night at eight o'clock, at Henry's restaurant, the last quail will be disposed of, accompanied by numerous dishes oi oysters, by way of settlement of wagers.
