There was a fine Sunday school last Sunday morning. The attendance in the Elementary department was larger than at any time since the promotion of two large classes to the Intermediate department. Other departments are growing too and we must not be content, until at least the attendance is equal to the church membership. Let every member of the School be present Sunday morning at 9:45. Continue to bring new pupils, such as do not belong to other schools.

Class meeting at 12:15 p. m. There will be a report from the State Convention Sunday morning. Mrs. Ramsay and the pastor attended the State Convention at Arkansas.

City this week. It was a great and inspiring meeting. The reports from all over the state were encouraging and more money has been contributed from the churches than ever before. Bro. Crawford, our State Secretary is a great leader of a worthy cause.

We ought to give this work our loyal support. The Rummage Sale will be held next week and all articles of every sort will be appreciated. Phone any of the King's Daughters or send them to the church. Scripture text: Romans Every member of the Social department is requested to come early and be prepared to take some part in the meeting. Here are a few questions to be answered: "What is the purpose of a social? What are the best socials? What is a social intended to accomplish? Have our socials been a help to the church? What is meant by a good time? Where, When and why should we be social? Our Hallowe'en social is being planned. Anyone having suggestions please give them to Relker. Begin now to Invite your friends. Remember the little prayer meeting that meets in the north tower room at 6:30 every Sunday evening.

You will do well to come a little earlier so as to be in it. We shall count much on it this winter. We wish that all our members could be in the Personal Workers class. "The Inner Circle" is what we love to call it. It is the best thing we have yet had.

It meets every Monday evening at 7:30. Next Monday we will meet at the home of Floyd Cole, 206 North Fourth Street. Come if you can. The Junior League will convene Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. The Epworth League at 6:45 p.

m. Topic: "Selecting Disciples: the Material and the Plan for the Structure." (Mission Study Rally day). References: Mark 2 Kings Miss Alice Norton will lead. There should be a large attendance. Next Sunday morning members of the church and congregation will be asked for written answers to the following question: "What will help the attendance and efficiency of our Sunday evening services?" The answers will be grouped and read at the Sunday evening service.

The Annual Convention of the Woman's Foreign 'Missionary society of the Atchison District will meet in First Church Wednesday and Thursday, October 23 and 24. A number of delegates from over the District will attend. The first session begins on Wednesday at 3 p. m. At seven-thirty o'clock Wednesday eJvenflng there will be a praise service, and at 8:00 o'clock Mrs.

Reba S. Freeman of Kansas City will deliver an address. The last session of the convention will begin at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Members and friends of other churches, who are interested in missions, are most cordially invited to attend the sessions of the convention. The pastor has conducted three funerals this week: that of William Edward Betts, aged 7, on Tuesday; Mrs.

Mary B. Hazelitt, aged 85, on Wednesday; and Mr. Loyd Stetler, aged 36, on Thursday. The sympathy of this church is extended to those who mourn. Frances DeWitt Morrison and Clifford W.

Turner, were married at the home of the bride's mother, 513 Atchison street, on Friday, October 17, at four o'clock. The pastor performed having Miss Ella McLarin of Chic ago with us for even one night. It ought to be a great inspiration to us in all our. missionary work. Miss McLarin is one of our great women.

We must not forget that this is the period for the offering for State Missions. We are sure that if you went to the Convention you would want to help the good work along.
