Willoughby. Over 10,000 people attended the World's Fair on last Saturday, although the weather was cold and wet. The Union Terminal case may get a new hearing, at the request of the Missouri Pacific On May 4th three men charged with murdering women were taken by a mob from the jail in Las Lunas N. M. and hanged to a tree.

Willis Goodell of Osage County was pardoned from the penitentiary last Saturday. He was serving a term of four years for grand larceny from 1891. Good behavior shortened his term. It has been discovered that a plan is in operation to flood the country with Chinese. It is reported that some of the government officals get large fees for allowing them to pass.

Auditor Ackerman's last report showed that nearly 3,500 persons are on the pay roll of the world's Fair Committee and that the monthly pay amounts to about $225,000. By the, first of June the number will be cut down to about 2,000. Because of the excessive quantities of snow in the pineries, it is expected that the Mississippi Valley will be visited by the highest floods ever known. The test case of the Chinese who failed to register according to law, was heard in New York courts, and the Celestial ordered sent home to China. Other cases are on the docket.

Secretary Moeler's last report reduces the wheat crop to thirty-eight percent. The town of Wilmington Ohio was badly torn up by a cyclone on last Friday at 5 o'clock m. Every church was damaged except the Presbyterian. The rain did much damage to a large part of the property. A young farmer, named Frank Seager committed siucide near Wichita by taking morphine on Thursday and was found on Saturday.

Wind up of the Catholic Fair. The Catholic fair closed last Saturday night after a full week of success, socially and financially. Those receiving the several valuable prizes were as Jas. Hennesy, tM boiid gold watch to the most popular engineer; Miss Cora Brooks, ladies' solid gold watch to the most popular young lady; Dave Rodeck, the solid gold badge to the most popular fireman; Pat Boughan, the silver lantern to the most popular conductor; John Keysor, the seal ring, set with diamonds to the most popular brakeman; Mrs. T.

parlor suit to the most popular married lady; P. McGorey, the China tea sot to the most popular farmer. Other smaller pressents were received by ladies and gentlemen and girls and boys attending the fair, but our space this week, contrary to expectations, will not admit of our entering into details. We have not learned yet the amount of net proceeds of the fair, which is to aid in the building of the new Catholic church in this city. Hoisington Blade.
