See. Mr. J. E. Ireland, a long time resident of Iola, has olTersd his town property for sale and owing to his wife's poor health will move to some cooler and dryer region presumably Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Chas. Nicholson, for some time past employed in the office of the cement plant, left in company with his wife Saturday for New Mexico where they will spend the winter. Mr. Nicholson's health has been declining for some months and his co-workers in the office very generously raised a contribution of 8200 with which he might take the much needed rest as his circumstances in the House fllart and Marshall Baker are defendants at such prices as' will reduce the stock to where we can see "where we are at," at least.

There si no money in sacrifice sales, but we have made up our minds' to sell the goods and we are going to do it if prices cut any figure. Root has the contract for the metal work and a Mr. Roberts will take enre of the wood work. Ed McIIugh brings suit against Ira Kelly for the recovery of 8010 damages which he claims the latter should fork over for injuring his bus business. The trail is set for the November term.

He wired back for the officers to arrest him and later went back and took charge of his man Miss Grace Brewster writes home that she had a delightful trip accross the iu a 8175 damage suit brought against them by 'Geo. A Ward, a real estate a-gent. Ward claims that amount of damages is due him owing to the fact that his buggy and other property belonging to him wa3 levied upon and sola at sheriff's sale to square his occupation tax, which matter he had overlooked. The buggy sold for $lt! but Ward says he needed it in his business (the buggy, not the coin) and so he's going to make a test of it and see whether or no he can be legally flim-flammed out of his means of support.

J. R. Sovereign one of the great labor leaders of the land, spoke to the voters of Iola Wednesday night. Notwithstanding the rain every seat in the opera house was taken and many were compelled to stand up. A nd the best of it wa9 that with not over a half dozed exceptions every seat was filled with a voter.

It was a magnificent audienee. Mr. Sovereign is a good talker and for nearly two hours he held the closest at-tentien of his audience which was composed chiefly of laboring men. That he made votes for Bryan and the state ticket there is no doubt.
