TIMETABLE. A fortune uwnits Dr. C. II. Sykes, of Mil Uadion Chicago, if ho was not so utterly opposod to advertising his ''Sure Cure for Catarrh" and "Atmospheric Institllator," but he says they need no advertising.

Walton's, one at Mrs. B. Klake's and another at Mrs. Col. Pinkney's.

All were very pleasant and enjoyable entertainments. Mrs. Seybold, sen. fell half way down her back stairs, the other clay, with one of her grandchildren in her arms. The child was not much hurt, but the old lady was skinned and bruised considerably about the head and face.

She is rapidly recovering. Del Yensid. From Another Correspondent. Mrs. Slaymaker, mother of Tom, and Jno.

Tho following poem from tho pen of our Dr. is timely presented, and we arc pleased to favor our readers with its graceful lines Christinas inhere, let us troublo rcslpn, on tit-bit we'll lunch, on chicken we'll dine; Let usulo.se font time our eyes on the past, Ami have a jolly good time whilo Christmas does lutl, The bit; white rooster Is to pot, He's lender and ful and will feed tho whole lot; Dress liim, and roast him us nice as you ran, He'll make good dinner for our whole clan. Poor Chanticleer's rouc, we'll see him no more, To the pole In the roost he'll never more noar; He'll scratch no he'll eat no more porn, He'll wake us no more in the jjMy of tho morn, One thins he'll do, lie ne'er did before. He'll make us a feust and he'll do it no more: oh! may we be thankful for such excellent cheer And remember the giver through ail lliu New Year, While we partake of this exellent iood, And be merry and happy us every one should, I'll tell you how Chanticleer sounded his horn, In Jiulea'i vale on memorable mom. When the Paviotir foretold Ids trial and death, Hrave l'etcr ho thought his sword to unsheath F.iicoiiraircd our Lord by promises fair.

Sayinp, "Though all forsake, 1 Mill will be there." 'Not so," faith the Lord who walked on the sens. Ere Chanticleer's notes are borne on tho breeze, 'Three times wilt (hou suy thou kuowest me not." She can lay the best Cfjgs and makes the best roast. ni 1 Hillsboro is becoming an important factor in the legal business of the county, and the lawyers are finding it a boint of some consideration in their profession.

There is posted in trie German Bank here an old insurance policy of the 'Insurance Company of Xorth America," issued at Philadelpha in 1775. It is quite brown with age, but is in a good state of preservation. The mill-wright here, is engaged in setting up the machinery in our new mill. It will take several months, we are informed, to do this work and it will require much heavy timber. Mr.

Carter has received an order already, for 7000 feet of this kind of timber. The advertisement of C. II. Frybar-ger, collecting agent, appears in our columns, this week. Mr.

Frybarger has established a reputation as an efficient collector, and his relentless per-suit of evasive debtors, has become proverbial. We are sorry not to lie able to give a full report of the closing exercises of the school, this week. Prof. KeirT and his faithful assistant, Miss Brockets had the programme arranged with excellent taste, and all the parts were performed in a pleasing manner. There, were songs, dialogues, recitations, besides a "School Paper" which was read by Master John McCai ty.

The most admirable feature of the exercises, however, were the recitations of fifteen or twenty sentiments, taken from standard authors, by different pulpils. I'. The condition of our schoof building, at the present tinie, is such as to realy endanger the health of the pupils. Iii fact Prof, lleiffe's health is much impaired iii consequence of the cold drafts which enter through the east end of. the building. The worst feature of this trouble is that the building is so defective in its construction that the difficulty can scarcely be rem-idied by ordinary repairs. This heap of stone in the shape of a building is not only uncomfortable, but actually uneafe, and before another school year rolls round, it ought to be torn down and rebuilt.

It will not pay to spend much for repairs on this building in its present siape.
