C. McConnell, of the Holton tribune, was in town iu the interest of his paper. Jack Chambers has enlisted in the Light Artillery, at Fort Kiley. Wesley Kimball and Joe Budd, of Havensville, were transacting business here Wednesday. Miss Cora Miles has been visiting friends and relatives here.

She returned home labt week. I. M. Gibson is building himself new carpenter shop. This is a convenience he has needed for some time.

The Steam Merry-go-round has gone to Havensville, they spent a very profitable week here. C. W. Learner is in Lecompton, enjoying a vacation with his wife little daughter, lie expects to be absent about a week. During the absence of Rev.

Hair the Congregational church will be plastered, papered and painted. Harry Gregg was in town last week, he reports that he and Allen rowlson are having the best of suc cess in their new venture. J. W. Warner being away on a two weeks vacation. Albert Kolterman had tho misfor tune to lose three head of cattle last week. The cattle got out of the pasture and were struck by the west bound passenger train.

Mr. I. Barrett, candidate for sheriff, before the Republican county convention was in town Wednesday looking over political matters. Miss Minnie Hoefer, the popular young Milliner of this city, has shipped her stock of goods to Milton vale. Miss Hoefer has made many warm friends during her stay here.

C. E. Koentz, of Onaga, will 1e in Blaine August 25th, 20th, 27th, 28th 20th and 30th, prepared to do all kinds of photographic work. Don't wait until the last day. Mr.

John Kennedy is reported quite sick. A short time since the cow was sad; she scarce could raise her head begad.
