There were now ti more nocturnal sounds of nature for the frost had driven the twittering birds farther south, had silenced the insects and at the same time had colored the leaves and set them a rustling. A train carrying human freight rought with happiness, ambition and some sadness puffed its way up the deep railroad cut and past the gleaming lights from the windows of well known homes. On the bill stood a house and in the door was the figure of a woman silhouetted by the brightness of light from within; in her hand she held an apron and peering out across the darkness she was waving to the boyish form standing on the platform of the rear coach. In an instant the train was gone and softly the door of the house was closed and the one in the car clanged into place. The mother went to her sleepless bed and the son who was starting on his journey of life went to his dreams.

Only a few weeks passed and the same train sped in with the same youth. The light of that home had gone out forever. But that picture in the door waving to the outgoing train is ever uppermost in that man's heart and now in ministering to others when the nights are dark the figure in the doorway stands out as an angel of life ever beckoning to things noble and.beyond this broken life. "The shadow passetb when the tree shall fall. But I shall reign forever over all." sas.

CroBley Len Cash Willie Carlton TF was in Oklahoma on a visit, before the time expired, allowed by law, for the Judge to make a call for a grand jury tor the January term of court. Every body was all excitement over what appeared to be a race against time for the limit was 12 o'oclock p. m. Wednesday night. At nine o'clock on Wednesday evening Judge Foust seat a long distance telephone message en quiring for Mr.

McClain. Thus the time was so nearly up that it is safe to say "There will be no grand jury this term of court." The call would have to be made inside the state line and the time expired with the petition in Kansas and the Judge in Oklahoma. The unavoidable happenings are beyond comprehension in this case for there are hundreds in this cbun ty who never heard of this petitcn but have been anxious to see laws enforced or know the reason why they are trampled upon by some in office who have wom to protect them. i Senator.
