beginning with Friday noon the parade will be pulled off consisting of floats by different business houses which will be represent ed by representatives from the wholesale houses from the larger cities, and school children will form in the parade with the assistant of members of different lodges. The H. T. A. alone will have over one hundred men in line, the parade will then march to the fair ground where the di.

ferent races will bepulled off in the afternoon and a ball game detween the Elsmore and Savonburg ball team two of the strongest game of south eastern Kansas strengthen with the different players from different teams of the County. The Agriculture exhibits will be held in the Decker building. The music will be furnished both days by the Elsmore Band. Come one. Come all, Death of Amos Jefferis.

Amos Jeffries was born in Richland Ohio, May, 2, 1844 He moved to Indiana with his parents when he was but a child. At the beginning of the Civil war he inlisted, in the Union Army and served until honorable bischarged. He was married to Anna Beeson May 29, 1368. To tnis union there was born eleven children of which four sons and two daugh ters survive him. He came to Allen Kansas in 1879 and since that time has continued to reside here, He died Sept.

16, 1911, at the age of sixty seven years four months anb fourteen days. He leaves a wife, six children three brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss, Funeral services was couducted at the house by Rev. Ayling after which he was laid to rest in the Moran cemetary. Obituary. The remains of Mrs.

May How erton was laid to rest in the old Elsmore cemetary on Monday evening, She died at her home in Bates, on Friday Sept 15, 1911, she was the only daughter of Mr and Mrs. James Tremain, She was born on the home farm two miles north of Elsmore aud was well known it this comu nity, was married to Rev. J. Howertou Dec, 24, 1896, to them were born three sons who are left without a mothers care and with the husband to mourn her A short service was conducted at the grave by Rev, Ayling. Entertained.

B. McConnel made a business trip to Anderson the first ef the week. Fred Tippie and Bert Wattson left Monday morning on a business trip to Altamond. Kansas. Mrs.

Henry Cox and Miss Carmon returned home Friday afternoon from a visit at Pleasanton, Kansas, Mr. C. E. Jackson returned home Thursday after several weeks visit with relatives and friends in California. Hillery Harris who has been sick for several months is very much improved and was able to accompany his brother Ralph home to Bronson, Wednesday.

Anderson for the past six weeks left on early rain Wednesday morning for his home at Pasedena, Cal, Miss Hedvig Setterstrom returned Friday, from a three weeks visit at Burdick, she was accompanied home by Mrs. A. E. Anderson and children, The Elsmore Band went to Walnut last Thursday and all report a good enjoyable time althollgh the tor of the Waluut Advance had been very busy engaged in throwing slurs at our boys as well as the committee who engaged them.

but the citizens of Waluut got more than their moneys worth and showed their confidence by selecting three of the boys as judges in baby show, the three were W. Nelson, Wille Harmon and Moody Ralston, there vas some objection to Moody acting as judge but by proving to them that he was a ball headed man he was selected, the trio announces themselves they are willing to act as judges at the Elsmore baby show Sept. 30. There being consiberable objection C. W.
