A. -Savonburg Lodge, No. 130, meets at theii hall in this city the Friday on or before the full moon of each month. Four funerals in one week. Is what we have to chronicle this week.

Never in the history of Savonburg have we been called upon to report so many in the same length of time. Verily, "We know not the day nor the hour when the Lord cometh." The people of Blazing Star dist-' trict are talking of building an addition to their school house to accommodate the increase in Wm. Ben-net's family. He being the proud father of a pair of twins. We understand they were promptly named Grover and Frances.

OBITUARY. Died. At her home 2 miles Northeast of this place on last Monday morning, of lung trouble, Mrs. Chas. Loer-gren.

The remains were interred Tuesday afternoon at the Swede cemetry a few miles west of here; where they were attended by a large concourse of iriends. Died: On last Monday morning at his home 2i miles southeast of here, Albert Pryor. The deceased was a young man 24 years of age, and he was loved by all who knew him. His loss will be keenly felt by the community in which he lived. The remains were interred at the Harmony cemetry Tuesday afternoon.

His remains were interred, Thursday afternoon at the Swede cometry. The Progress extends heartfelt sympathy to friends and relatives ol each of the deceaed.

Geo. Camp left last Tuesday night for Wier City, to join her husband who is employed there at a coal shaft, superintending the loading of cars. A map of Kansas twelve feet lono-and six feet wide, making the scale three miles to the inch, will exhibit at the World's fair. Every school-house in the state will be represented by a small red cross, and there is no section on the map where these marks will be more than an inch that is, three miles apart.

In the eastern half of the state the average is six school houses to every township. The idea is worthy of Kansas, but why not make a crown the emblem of the school house instead of a cross. Ex. 'Ihe Allen Teacher's association will meet here tomorrow. See program in another column.
