The Forty-voiced Choir will render some excellent music at the Park the Fourth. A daughter of Mr. Bilhelmer, from Michigan, arrived in this city, Wednesday evening. The handsome front of C. W.

Bitt-mann's Store has, put on a Fourth of July' appearance. The law office of Hick Johnson has been moved up stairs over the office formerly occupied. Our new String Band was highly complimented on their playing at Bel-yue, Tuesday evening. James Darnell is doin better work and more of it, on our streets than has jeen done for many years. Hiram Droneberger, of Adams Creek, in town, Thursday. Reports prospects favorable for a good corn crop. Diptheria, is reported at Cross Creek, north of St. Marys.

Several children have died within the. last few days. William Wimmer will propably terminate his mail carrying the first' of July unless better compensated for his labor. Miss 3iatie Huey returned home, last Thursday, from Olesburg, where she has been visiting the past two or three weeks. The M.

E. berry and cream festival, Tuesday evening, was a success, both enjoyably and financially, net proceeds accruing; $17. Flaming posters announcing what is to be the exercises at Lakeside Park) the Fourth of July, will soon be out. Ed. lmmenschuh, of Rock Creek, in the city Thursday.

Corn and other crops growing beyond all expectations, a few weeks ago. With but few exceptions, the schools have been well taught and well go cm ed during the year now closing. Many of the difficulties in the way have been overcome and fewer mistakes made, than in any previous, year.

But the, time lias come, the coun cil has acted, and these streets and alleys will be opened.
