Ward is visiting in Illinois. Chas. Coppenbarger's baby is quite ill. Wm. Grebe was a visitor in Winfield Monday.

C. C. Lohman of Tonkawa is here husking corn. The Farmers Institute will be held next Saturday. Leon Magette returned from Blackwell Saturday.

The skating rink is being moved to Belle Plaine. Arthur Swan is out of school on account of tonsilitis. Several apple wagons have made the town this week. W. A.

Casady spent Monday on his farm north of town. Plumbers are at work on the Tuttle residence east of town. Born: -To Mr. and Mrs. John Maurer, a girl, Nov.

10th 1912. Some people can't find enough news so they manufacture it. A baby boy was born to Perry Rutter and wife on Nov. 7 1912. I.

DeVore is visiting at the the home of Harry Bumgardner. If a "know-it-all" can't run your business "it" will try to ruin it. Born: -To Orval Woods and wife, a fine 11 pound boy, Oct. 30, 1912. J.

L. Tuttle's new business house on First street is being plastered. The News has never left out any NEWS handed to us, unless by mistake. Arthur Washburn and wife were business visitors in Arkansas City Saturday. A Sunday School Convention will be held in the Presbyterian Church Nov.

15th. W. C. Spencer and family spent Sunday at the home of Mr. Penrose of route 2.

Edward Eisenberger and wife are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Nov. 9th 1912. Mr. Dow and family of Cedarvale have moved into the Seacat property on west Elm Ave. W.

C. Smith and wife visited his daughter, Mrs. Alta Mowery of Arkansas City last week. James McCullough and wife spent Sunday with Postmaster Levering and wife at Ashton. Chas.

Russell and Arch Schisler went to Belle Plaine Saturday P. M. on Charley's motorcycle. Mrs. Myrtle Peters of Ashton visited her mother, Mrs.

J. R. Coppenbarger, Saturday and Sunday. Attend the entertainment at the Slate Valley Baptist Church at Adamsville Saturday evening Nov. 16th.

W. SPENCER Mr. and Mrs. Edmonson came down from Mulvane and spent the latter part of last week with friends. Rev.

Paul Brown of Augusta, Kansas spent a part of last week with his parents, L. L. Brown and wife. Mrs. Ada Fox and son, Paul, of Chautauqua, are visiting her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. J. C. Ault. Mrs.

S. H. Brewer and children have returned from New Mexico where they has spent the summer. Emil Werther of Ashton was in town Monday with a load of the finest pears we have had at $1.00 per bushel. Henry Simons attended the football game between Fairmont and the Southwestern team in Winfield, Monday.

Percy Buckwalter has finished painting the bank building, both exterior. and interior, for the Odd Fellow Lodge. No matter what a man has done, there are few who will "stand for it" to have drunks pulled off in their own home. Mrs. J.

J. Marks is making her home with Mrs. David Rutter for the winter while Mr. Marks has gone west to work. "If they bring a bone they will carry a bone" is old, but trueyou never can tell where a gossip will hit-it may be you next.

The Methodist Ladies will serve dinner at the home of Mrs. Dr. E. M. Roberts, Saturday, Nov.

16. The public is invited. Mrs. Emma Krause, President Ladies Aid Society. DEATHS Mrs.

Julius Moldenhauer died Tuesday 5th after a long suffering illness. She was a very patient sufferer. R. C. Baker conducted the funeral services at the home Wednesday and the remains were taken to Harper for interment.

The relatives have the sympathy of this community. Mrs. Katherine Hansen died at her home north-east of town on 7th and she was lain to rest in Tannehill cemetery on Saturday. She was one of the early settlers here. She had pheumonia and it was thought she was recovering, but her age was against her.

The heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended to her relatives. Freddie Cummings the small son of Link Cummings of west of town died on 3rd of Meningitis. All that was possible was done for the little sufferer, but it was of avail. F. O.

Kelly of Cedervale, who spent the summer here became despondent and while his family was at church he took his own life by hanging himself, at his home near Cedervale, 3rd. Obituries will appear in next issue. John Houston has had a beautiful monument erected at his wife's grave. F. M.

Case got so excited over the Democratic victory that the day after election he could not tell the difference between milk and salt water..
