W. Hougham met with something like a distressing acoident. Mr. Hougham claims that when he went down town Monday evening he had in his pocket a bill book containing $140. (Tuesday morning early sas Tom Smith was going down town he picked up.

Rubelo claims he has several hundred dollars due him from his mother's estate and he intends to make a hustle alter it.

It would certainly prove a veritable godsend to the poor fellow should he ever receive it. The first issue of the Southwestern Advocate, the effort of the now publisher, P.W. Duncan, formerly of the extends its warmest congratulation to the publisher and with the paper much success. Messrs Cutter and Hickey went to Nswkirk on business one day last week. Schwab of Chicago, was in town last week and sold Nelson Tipler the largest bill of shoes ever purchased by that firm for their spring trade. Say, have you noticed that Geuda has been right in it of late.

From one to two shows a week has been the order of late. So far tho' the doors have not been broken down in the rush to purcnase iicxets. Last week we failed ta separate th items sent in by our assistant and in consequence came near getting our foot in it, so to speak. The spectacle item was thrown onto our shoulder and we had to stand it. When you desire to do a deserving turn to a cripple buy an occasioned apple or sack of corn of the Italian, Rubelo, "Frank" is a jolly good nat-ured soul and a few cents donated to him will certainly be "bread cast on waters." "When Greek meets Greek, then comes a tug of war," is the old saying, and the same thing can no doubt be said of the meeting of two dealers in patent washing machines, as was the case one day last week.

A number of our enterpris ing townspeople have got their heads together and it litis been decided to have a turkey shoot.

Everybody is invited to come and participate in the affair. A number of prizes will be put up for competition. All you fancy shots now get your implements of warfare in readiness and make preparation to come and spend the 24th. in Geuda and help make the day one of sport and pleasure. Last week owing to a mistake of the printer it was stated that "A Mrs.

Oleson was in town organizing an insurance order." It should have read "Mr. Oleson." The gentleman in question has been working faithfully to organize a lodge (of the Fraternal Aid Association, We have taken pains to look into the organization very carefully and can recommend it most cordially.
