Marys on the Kansas river, while Onaga, Havensviile, Wheat on, Blaine, Olsburg and Garrison in the northern part are substantially built, thrifty towns, drawing trade from a large territory. Westmoreland, the county seat, is located near the central part of the county, and contains about 500 inhabitants. It is surrounded by some of the finest farming and grazing lands in Kansas, and as soon as the new railroad now in contemplation is constructed, will undoubtedly become a city of considerable importance. It will repay every person who receives a copy of this paper to carefully read every word printed herein. This state has abundant moisture to produce great crops, but last week's national crop report states that there is a marked deficiency in rainfall, over the gulf states, in New England, over the northern portion of the middle Atlantic states; 'portions of the lake region, central Mississippi and lower Missouri valleys. The map shows that the wettest and driest points are on the Mississippi river, and that Eastern Kansas-has been most greatly blessed with rainfall. The map will show all school district boundaries, roads, streams and railroad lines, in addition to the name of the owner of every farm in the county.
