First National Bank Norton, Kansas Capital $75,000 Transacts a general banking business Safe, Sound, Reliable to represent them in the state legisla ture and in the congress of the United States. The Sixth district has had enough of the county seat type of politician as its representative in congress. Unmistakably, the voters want a business man to succeed the present Democratic misfit in congress. And there is no question about their determination to nominate and elect such a man, for Otis L. Benton, of Oberlih, fully fills this requirement.

Mr. Benton is more than a successful business man, he is a practical farmer and stock raiser. Farming and stock raising are the chief interesTs of the Sixth district, and this great producing class of our citizens have determined to be represented in congress by a man who knows their needs in legislation and who has the ability to secure the passage of laws that will stop the discrimination in the prices of the products they grow upon their farms and ranches. Otis L. Benton made a record a few years ago in Washington.

He was called there to delve into Indian funds deposited ia. banks throughout the country on which not a dollar of interest was being paid. Benton found a million dollars of such funds which through an order made many years before, did not yield the government a cent. In a few months a stream of interest was flowing into the. treasury amounting to $2,500 a month, or $30,000 'a year $100 a day for every.

in the year. And that $100 a day is still coming to national treasury, due to the practical krrwledge of public affairs, business experience and ability of Otis L. Benton. The people of the Sixth district stand for the man who knows how to do things and who goes ahead and does them. What he did for the general gov- ernment in a few months in Washington is a sample of the service he will render the people of the Sixth district as its congressman.

Party lines will not be closely drawn when the voters come to a choice next November between Otis L. Benton and the present member, for thousands of Democratic voters are just as much interested in faithful and efficient service in congress as are Repub- licans. That is why the Republicans set the mark at for Mr. Benton. ON THE ROAD.

E. Womer, Cashier HOW WE CAN WIN A SWEEPING VICTORY. Let the Sixth District Set a Standard With 10,000 Republican Majority The Voters Are Turning to Business Men to Represent Them in Congress and in the Legislature. (From the Lincoln Republican.) The Sixth Congressional District is coming back to the Republican party. Kansas right now would give the grand old party 50,000 majority; it do better than that next November.

The twenty-two counties that compose the" Sixth district will do their share in swelling the grand total. Ten thousand Republican majority for the Sixth district should be the slogan of next year's campaign. Republican men and women of the Sixth, let us set that figure as our standard and go and get the votes. Let us give ten thousand Republican majority for a Republican president, and 10,000 majority for Governor Capper and the state ticket, and let us pile up 10,000 majority for a Republican congressman. If we do this we will elect our four Republican state senators and twenty-two Republican representatives and fill the twenty-two court houses with Republican officials.

Let the Sixth "district set an example to the state and the nation for a sweeping Republican victory. To insure that victory we must present to the voters candidates whose lives of usefulness in community and state building stand out as wortny of our support. Such men are being sought by the voters. These men and women living on the farms in the home3 of the Sixth district in their judgment of men, what they stand for and what they have accomplished in their business life, will make no mistake. It is to their credit that they are turning to business men Learn to smile.

It will produce orders. Insist on a man's full attention when you talk to him ten minutes of real attention is worth a half day of horse play and the only fair thing to both merchant and salesman. Many thing3help cause failure on the road, but after all, the lack of knowledge is the biggest factor. Don't spend your time telling about some other successful salesman. Hustle out and take in a little of it yourself. The merchant who does not read one or two good trade papers, is courting failure. Keep up a good stock of enthusiasm and believe in yourself, your house and your goods.
