E. GROVE. Ruth McMullen. She was born in Winchester, Ohio, in 1851, was married to J. 11, Campbeil in 1869.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and has done much good work in the interest of spiritual advancements. She was a prominent member of the order of Eastern Star and was at the time of her death, a Past Grand Worthy Matron. She leayes a fond husband and three daughters to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted wife and mother. The funeral services were held Satur day morning from the Methodist church, the Rev. W.

Prof. Welty rendered a beautiful funeral march as the remains, preceded by the minister reading the church ritual, were carried in. The Episcopal choir rendered a chant, after which the Musical Union, placed in the gallery, rendered "Ave Vermun," witn marked effect, Rev. H. Waitt offered prayer after which an octette consisting of the Male Quartette and the Iroung Men's Quartette sang '-Lead Kindly Light." In the funeral address, the Rev.

Martindale reviewed the history of Mrs. Campbell's life and spoke many words of consolation to the be-eaved family. The Musical Union closed the services by singing "Nearer My God to Thee." At a meeting of tne teachers of the city schools, held on Wednesday evening, the following were adopted: Vhereas, It has pleased, the all wise Director of Destinies to remove from our midst our esteemed friend and fellow teacher, Mrs. Ruth Campbell, therefore be it, Resolved, That wnile bowing in humble submission to His will, we. as her colaborers in the work of education and especially as the teachers of the Newton schools hereby express our grief at the loss of our friend and most worthy Resolved," That, in the sad realization of the great bereavment which has fallen on her family and friends, we extend our aincerest sympathy to them in this time of their sad affliction. Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on the minutes of our meeting as a perpetual memento of our appreciation of her work in our midst. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be furnished to the city papers with a request for their publication.
