Tenney Wingett, Lincoln, Dear Sirs: We received today application for prices from Sypher Smith of your town.

Last year we sold you our stoves, and infer that you wish to handle them this year. Will you please advise us? Yours truly, Rathbonk, Sard Co. Of course we shall continue to deal in the "Acorn" stoves. When competing hardware firms are not content to let their own lines of stoves stand on their own merits but seek to supplant us as agents for the "Acorn" stove, we submit that the evidence is convincing as establishing beyond all possibility of cavil the claim we have always made, that tho "Acorn" is the really peerless stove that claims the attention of all judicious housewives. We are also agents for Rath-bono, Sard Co's gasoline stoves.

Mmx. 28 IHed. At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eliza Loo-little, at liashan, Lincoln county, Kansas, on Monday, March 30, 1885. Mrs.

Pettie Karns-worth, in the year of her life. The funeral services, at liashan school house, were conducted by Kev. John Medcraft and II. C. Bradbury.

"So teach ns to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto was the text chosen by Kev. Medcraft for the discourse. The whole neighborhood was present. "Grandma" Farnsworth was uorn in West-ford, Chittenden county, May l(i, lTflfi. She had lived also in Michigan, Iowa and Illinois.

She has three children living: Mrs. Eliza Doolit-tle, Mrs. Walker, of Chicago, and Judson Farnsworth Fom teen years of Iver lite she had been blind, but five years ago her eyesight was restored at 'he eye infirmary at Chicago. She was struck with paralysis a few months ago. The return of this caused her death.

She was always cheerful amid her troubles. Speaking of her paralytic part, she said, "1 have one limb that does not belong to me, for it is always grumbling. She was so- very thankful for any little favor it was a great pleasure to do anything for her. Especially was she pleased to hear the Bible read, or a religious book, or praver, or Bong. She wanted everyone to sing "Loving Kindness," and often would she sing it alone by herself.

Awake my soul In joyful lays, And siflg thy great Redeemer's praise; He justly claims a song from me; His loving kindness, Oh, how free! He saw me ruined In the fall, Yet loved me notwithstanding all; He saved me from my lost estate; His loving kindness, Oh, how great! When trouble, like a gloomy cloud, Has gathered thick and thundered loud, He near my soul has always stood; His loving kindness, Oh, how good! Often I feel my sinful heart Prone from my Jesus to depart; But though 1 have him oft forgot, His loving kindness changes not. "At evening time it shall be light," said one of the old prophets, and surely it was so with Pettie Farnsworth. No one was move happy than she. She seemed happy even to suffer if it was God's will, Soon shall I pass the gloomy vale, Soon all my mortal powers must fail; Oh may my last expiring breath His loving kindness sing in death. She had become a christian when only eighteen years of age, and the fruits of the were always hers.

More and more she grew pure and holy, till now she departs to reign with hev Saviour and he like hiru. Then let me mount and soar away To those bright worlds of endless day, And sing with rapture and surprise 111a loving kindness iu the skies. II. Beacon: A few days ago when it was announced that the Canada Jersey Cow, Mary Ann, of St.

Lamberts, had produced 86 lbs. 12 1-4 07.. of butter in seven days, those owning line butter cows opened their eyes wide and asked, "Whore i3 the limit?" And Jersey breeders in the U. S. felt a little chagrined to think that cold, bleak Canada should outstrip them.

But last week's Breeders' Gazette gives the report of another test that puts the U. S. a long way in the lead. The Jersey Cow, Princess 2nd, owned by Mrs. S.

M. Shoemaker, of Stevenson, was 8 years old on the 22nd of February last, and on that day commenced a test that puts her at tho head of her class. The test was conducted by a disinterested man, Mr. Gest, of Cincinnati, O. He was appointed by the A.

J. C. C. and so conducted the test that there can be no doubt of its correctness, except on the theory of his making a willfully false report, and that is not probable under the circumstances. The test was -critically made under his constant watchfulness, and she produced in the seven days 299 1-2 lbs.
