On MondayI. IL Midkiff, long a resident of this part of tho county, departed for Oklahoma. We do not know his intentions but presume he will locate somewhere in that new country. We have seen a petition out with a long list of names attached thereto prayiog fur a bridge across Four Mile at the Billy Johnson crossing. It is the vary place where a bridge is badly needed and we hope it will be granted.

On the 4th of November 1893, there were living in Four Mile township ten old soldiers. All are pensioners except one. Politically four are republicans and six are populists. As near as we can learn they receive from the government eaoh quarter $258. The four republicans receive $185 and tli3 six populists $93.

Friday last Prof. Edgerton visited the school in district 47. He was wtdl pleased the way the school was running and had many words of praise for Miss Walberg as a teacher. There was no fault found with oither school or teacher. Ho visited the school at Field tho day before, but we did not learn any thing regard ing tho school at that place.

Myron Harper, for a long time a resident of Four Mile township, moved to Council Grove Monday of this week so wo understand. W'in. Schoof has rented the Cam-ooings farm on Four Mile crook and will move on to it iu the spring. We learn that a revival meeting is in progress at the South Bend school house. A wedding is soon to come off on Upper Four Milo probably Wednesday of this week.
