VOTE OUR TICKET. The people of Ford county do not want any more such appointments as that made by Zimmermann when intrusted the building of the new court house wing to the squirrel headed Elliott. Nor do they want any more thousand dollar appropriations for the repairing of the bridge across the Arkansas river at Cimarron, which was a direct (stealing of the peoples money. The law required the board of County Commissioners, in this instance, to advertise this work, and secure bids for the performance of the same; and that the one makiug the lowest bid should be entitled to the contract. Yet Mr.

Zimmermann disregarded the law and awarded the contract to his pet suckling, Mr. Elliott. We advise the people to look into this matter and see that no more mistakes are made in this direction. iie Vox Populi is in for a free oritlgc Vote for Jack Jcrnigan and kill off a Klaino hcnchraan by so doing. Give Boss Petillon the grand bounce, and vote for L.

E. MuGar-ry for clerk of the district court. A good honest government is all wo ask, and must have honest men in oflice. Our ticket, wo believe, fills the bill. The Vox Populi is for keeping the county lines just as they now stand, and thus save an extra expense i to the tax payers.

If old Nick Klaino would pay as much attention to the speedy distribution of the mail as lie does to the reading of postal cards that conies through the postoffice, there would not be so much kicking. We want every settler on the south side to look to their interests on election day, and vote for such officers that will keep the county intact just as it now exists, and vote for men that will give them free passes over the Dodge City bridge. Remember that the Burns, Swan, Klaine and Sutton combination arc against these two great interests to the tax payers. E. H.

BORTON, ATTORNEY AT LAW, DODGE CITY, KANSAS Office in Globe Building. Land contests undertaken. Collections made. 7-29. Insurance and Real Estate AGENCY.

7-10 DODGE CITY, -0- KANSAS. A candidate is certainly out of luck that has old Nick Klaine supporting him. One puff from the columns of his foul sheet would defeat the best man in Ford county for any office that he would be an aspirant for. Down with machine politicians and their nominees. Turn in and elect our ticket by a L.ousing majority.

OHAELES HEINZ, Prop'r SALOON RESTAURANT, DODGE CITY, KA2STSAS. Choice Wine, Liquors and Cigars and the best Restaurant and Lunch Stand ia Bodge. Your patronage solicited. In the eventthat Shoup being elected to legislature next Tuesday, a vacancy' will occur in our board of 1 county commissioners, as Mr. Shoup the present incumbent from the 3rd commissioners district will undoubtedly resign.

It is to be hoped that the people of the 3rd commissioner district will be careful whom they recommend for ap-K pointment to fill the vacancy, as the two remaining commissioners in conjunction with the county clerk will make this important appoint-Iment, they should see that no man gets the appointment that will be dictated to and controlled by Zimmermann who has done about as he pleases with the present board of county commissioners. They siiould recommend a man who has some judgment and will power of his own, and not a pliant tool who I will be bulldozed and handled by Zimmermann, who is no more fit to be chairman of the board of couuty commissioners than a jackass. His Election was a disgrace and a stain upon the people of Ford county. It requires a man of some (1 intelligence to manage the affairs of our growing and prosperous county, and not a man who will be actuated I by selfish and mercenary motives, I such as has characterized Zimmer- mann's official conduct, since his I installment as chairman of the I county board. LONG BRANCH SALOON.
