A vote of thanks was tendered the retiring president for her" efficient management of the Union the past year, and for ber untireing devotion to the cause of temperance, aad the noble stand she has ever taken in the cause of right and righteousness.

The union has raised and paid out out over forty dollars for State and National work, has circulated nearly two hundred copies of. temperance literature, besides furnishing our people with lectures by some of our best State and National workers, and though our work has been imperfect, we feel that it has not been in vain. The school board has done all in its power to make the Macksville school one of the best in Kansas. The employment of Miss Salesbury failed. The contract sent her reached her a day late, as she had accepted employment in another school.
