Tuttlo's children are afflicted with the mumps this week. Dr. Scott, Dr. Alford and J. Mott made a business trip to St.

John Friday. E. II. Hatch and daughter, of Prattsburg, were in the city Saturday. Mr.

and Mrs. Osbourne, of Great Bend visited our city last Wednesday. Rev. H. B.

Johnson will hold services in the M. E. church the first Sunday in May. Rev. Johnson will be in the M.

Sig Fry was in Hutchinson Monday, attending the straight democratic" meeting. He returned feeling very jublant over the post-office prospect. Among' those in attendance at the "World's fair jubilee" at Hutchinson this week, are: Madams Vedder Shetler and Ililmes, Misses Lois Gill-more, Dollie Howard, Anna Welsh, Minnie Potter and others. George II. Burr and Mr.

and Mrs. Andrew Aitken are also in tho St. John delegation. Drs. W.

L. Hoaglin and David S. Sparks have formed a co-partnership, and havo purchased the Winner stock of drugs. They are cleaning up the old stand, and will carry en a legitimate drug business. A new and fresh stock of drugs will be added together with all kinds of toilet goods and a fine line of cigars.

They will also practice medicine together, and will make their offices in the same building. Drs. Hoaglin and Sparks are too well known to need an introduction from us. D. L.

Buckels, one of our most successful wheat raisers, from near Antrim, was in the city Monday. He says wheat is all right in that part of the country, and that a rain within ten days or two weeks, wiil make it all O. K. Hethinks the principal cause of so many wheat raisers howling about wheat being "all dead" is that they never go into their wheat field except in dry weather, and then, seeing yel low blades down next to the ground they hold up their hands in horror. The fact is, he 6ays, these bottom blades always die, and will look yellow when the new growth commences, no matter how much rain there is.

He will remain in this position for a month. Dr. C. Belmont, the celebrated English physician and electrician from the Garden City Sanitarium, will be in St. John on Saturday next, April 29th and give free consultation and examination at the Arlington to all who are suffering with any kind- of chronic disease.

The doctor has made some marvelous cures in Garden City during the past year. It is time that certain people of the city of Stafford had taken a tumble unto themselves like the fall of a brick building. A. No. 44, the following resolutions were passed and ordered for publication: Whereas, Certain unlawful acts were committed in and near St. John, and threats of violence and arson by the parties arrested for the crime and others, have been made; and Whereas, The law-abiding citizens of St. John warned those parties not under arrest to leave the community; and Whereas, Certain business men of Stafford have offered their names upon a redongnizance for some of the parties under arrest.

Therefore, be it Resolved, That this association commend the officers of the law for their promptness in securing tht arrest of the parties accused of the aforesaid offenses. Resolved, That we commend the action of the good citizens of St. John in their efforts to purge their community; and that we condemn the action of all persons who by offering bond for the parties under arrest shall turn them loose upon a longsuffering community, i Sunday School Convention. The Stafford County Sunday School Association met this week at the M. E.

church in Macksville on Monday and Tuesday. The Sunday schools of the county were well represented by delegates and enthusiastic sessions held. The president. Bro. VanVranken reported 29 new schools organized kuring the past year and 1,000 new scholars enrolled.

The officers elected for the ensuing year are as follows: President, E. VanVranken! Secretary, W. S. Smith. Treasurer, Charley Rumford.

The Normal Sunday school lessons by Rev. George, state superintendent, and the several papers read and addresses delivered by the good Sunday school workers were full of instruction and good suggestiens. J. J.N Bailey, a real estate man of Hutchinson, was transacting business with J. S. Mott Co. on last Thursday. There are several sick horses in the city and vicinity.

All goods are warranted as represented when sold. The "event of the season" took place last Saturday evening in the building just south of the postoffice, under the auspices of the C. A. which is deserving of special mention and praise. The principle and most important featuro of the evening entertainment however was an elegant supper which was served right up in style, equal to McAllister's 400.
