Disagreed. The jury in the Landes embezzlement case at Lyons, failed to agree and were discharged last Saturday. They stood eight for conviction and four for acquittal, when discharged. The case will come up again in April. Mr. O. C. Jennings, county attorney of Stafford county, F. M.

Cowgill, attorney from St. John.H. Fierce, attorney of Hutchinson, and Ansel Clark, attorney of Sterling, are attorneys for the state while T. W. Moseley, attorney from St.

John, and Sam Jones of Lyons represented the defense. Mr. Jennings made the most masterly argument made on behalf the state, taking up all the evidence in the case and the instructions of the court, and clinching each proposition as he went along.
