Unless something of this Kind is done we will have no crops next year, nothing to bring in money.

A good crop will be worth more than a railroad, and will get the road for us. A railroad without a crop would be more ornamental than useful. We have not decided yet how this will have to lie done, but wo are convinced that it must be done in some way; and if we will all get together we can agree upon somo plan to put out a big fall crop and make this country blossom as the rose. A County Jail. Some steps should bo taken by the County Board of Commissioners to secure a jail for Stanton couuty.

At the present time the county is paying the expense of keeping two criminals in Morton county jail at an expense of sixty cents per day each, also one dollar per day for taking care of them. In one years time even two prisoners would cost the county enough to pay the Interest on Eleven Thousand Four Hundred dollars and Forty-two cents. A Jail to accommodate the present needs in this county could be built for half the above amount; besides linprov-ingjilie county, and having a convenient plaice for criminals. In constructing (such building, a great many men in tho county could be employed in building it. Thus leaving tho money In the hands of thecltlens ofthe county, and enabling many to stay on their claims Instead of seeking employment In other placet.
