Te Omaha Expotsiion The Kausas Commission has just issued an address to the people of the state, calling for their good will and assistance to raise funds and collect material so that b11 Kausans may feel an houost pride in our exhibit. The address dwells at length on the advantages that will accrue to the people of Kansas by availiug themselves of this first opportunity of exhibiting to the world the wonderful resources of the trans-Mississ-ipji country.

They Bhow that to correspond with the large sums appropriated by the United States, and contributed by many of oar Bister states will require thirty thousand dollars half of whioh has been subscribed by the principal railroads traversing the Btate. The address continues. We therefore respectfully ask that the mayors of cities, and boards of trade and all other commercial organizations, and all other citizens, clubs, committees or organizations, will at once go to work to raise funds collect and prepare material for exhibition, and that the owners of sink, lead, salt, coal, and other mines will arrange to make exhibitions of their mineral products and that the tine Stock Breeders' Association anange to place Kansas in the front rank as one of the great live-stock states of the union; that the educators, colleges and schools will take care that the educational interests of the state are creditably represented. Tho Commission will give all the aid and information possible in relation to all matters pertaining to its working, and all possiblejassistauce will be given in the work of collect ing specimens for exhibition, and aid, by all proper means, stockmen to get their stock in place, freights, as far as the financial ability of the organization will warrant. Persons can correspond with any of the Commission, but, preferably with the Secretary, at Topeka, who will give immediate attention to ull matters submitted to him.

The Commission asks that people who aid in tka work will advise it from time to time of the progress being made and of the extent of the collections secured. All funds should be sent to the Treasurer, at Topeka, who will receipt for them. It is the opinion of the govornor and of the members of the Commission that the next legislature of the state will refund all money advanced by the railroads and citizens. past week visiting her sister Mrs. Mitchell.

In the death of John Guthii which took place on Thursday May 11th, our county has lost a good officer and the community a good citizen. Mr. Gnthrie was born at Westchester, Ohio in 1858. He was a faithful conscientious of ficer; but, almost from the time of his election, he has been in poor health. The remains were taken to Ohio for burial.

He joined the Methodist church when at White City. A petition was circulated and numerously signed by men of all par ties asking tnat Mrs. Giuhrie be ap pointed to serve the unexpired time Mrs. Bobbins came down from White City Wednesday morning. The entertainment Saturday night was well carried out and well attended.

Railroads More Liberal Than to the World's Fair at Chicago. Summer tourist tickets will be sold at 80 per cent, of doublo locals to Omaha from all sections of the country, with final return limit to November 15. From all association points east cf Colorado a rate of one fare and a third for the round trip will be made from Juno first until October 30, with a thirty day return limit. For the opening ceremonies a rate of one cent a mile will be made from all points within 150 miles of Omaha. From all points beyond the 150 mile limit, the rate will be one fare for the round trip.
