J. Spears who lives southeast of town, died yesterday morning, at about six o'clock, after a long sickness. The remains will be taken to Mineral, Ill, for interment. Miss Spears lived alone with her father, and her death will be a sad Llow to him as it leaves him quite lonely. He has the sympathy of many friends in his bereavement.

Mrs. Severns at Rest. Mrs. Florence E. Severns, wife of J.

W. Severus, died at her home near Mount Olivet church, Sunday, April 12th, 1903, after an illness of eight weeks, Mrs Severns was a daughter of Mr and Mrs. J. F. Johnson.

She was born in Wapello county, Iowa, and at the time of her death was 42 years, nine months and 10 days of age She came to Kansas in the year 1872, and ever since has resided in Osage and Franklin counties. In 1882 she was married to J. W. Severns, and has become the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living, the youngest only two years old. About eighteen months ago Mrs.

Severns united with the Free Methodist church, since which time she has been most happy and devoted in her christian life, and died triumphant in the faith of her Lord. During all her sickness she was patient, cheerful and un complaining. At about seven o'clock Sunday morning she called her children around her bedside, talked to each out and bid them good-by. Then she talked to her husband and other relatives, telling them that while it was hard to leave her family, she was ready and willing to go. She lingered with them until about two o'clock in the afternoon when she departed, and went to be with Jesus.

The funeral services were held in the Free Methodist church at Agricola at two o'clock on Tuesday, April 14th, conducted by Rev. S. F. Wilson of Ot tawa, and the remains were laid to rest in the Agricola cemetery. Expression of Thanks.
