Hon. F. P. Hettinger, candidate tor judge of the 9th judicial district on the Fusion ticket, was in Canton this week. He appears to be a gentleman in nvery particular and threw no stones while here.

He says he has nothing to fear from the press if they will only tell the truth. The rain has put the wheat in excellent condition and prospects are good for another crop next near. Yes, there is plenty of time for something to happen to it, but we heard a farmer say recently that he never failed to get "some" wheat when he had a good prospect iu the fall and it is about the truth.
