B. SORTER. The Seventh Day Adventist Annual Gathering. For some time our mayor and G. W.

Cleek, as president of the park committee, have been in communication with the members of the Seventh Day Adventist, who are looking for a location to hold their annual meeting. There are several cities who are anxions to secure this meeting and while these gentlemen knew they were handicaped to a large extent, and it looks now as though this church organization will meet in Council Grove. Mr. Cleek received a communi. cation from Mr.

Brown, of Ottawa, who has the matter in charge and he assured him that our city was receiving the sanction of the majority of their committee having the selection of location in charge. We are informed that the only obstruction at this time, is the arrangements for lighting the park and this matter will no doubt be adjusted in a very few days. The date of this gathering is August 19th and continues ten days. Over 500 tents are used on these occasions and in the neighborhood of 2000 people attend. This will be a feather in the cap of our city if they succeed in furnishing this church organization the place to hold their annual meeting.

That it will prove entirely satisfactory to our visitors can be guaranteed by our people. Comiskey, Al Robinson has put in a Mutual phone. George Hebrank spent Sunday at Al Metzgers. People in this vicinity have the spring fever these nice days. Mrs.

Once I was young, now I am old, and I have never seen a girl that was unfaithful to her mother that ever came to be worth a oneeye button to her husband.

It is the law of God. It isn't exactly in the Bible, but it is written large in the miserable lives of many unfortunate homes. I am speaking for the boys this time. If any of you chaps ever come across a girl that, with a face full of roses, gays to you as you come to the door, "I can't go for thirty minutes yet, for the dishes are not washed," you wait for that girl. You sit right down on the doorstep and wait for her, because some other fellow may come along and carry her off, and right there you lose an angel.Bill Arp.
