6, THE KANSAS YOUNG LUTHERAN turn to Bethany College September 1st. Others will go later. GYPSUM VALLEY LUTHER LEAGUE. The following delegates are selected for the coming conventions: Ellen Snmuelson and Carl Johnson, with Esther Tarnstrom and Oscar Johnson as alternates, to the State Convention. Anna Nelson and Hildur Ahlstedt, with Chas.

Nelson and Arvid Samuel-son as alternates, to the District meeting. The League will pay half the railroad fare of the delegates to the State Convention. League meetings will be held as follows: Sept. 2, Alfred Chindberg's; Sept. 16, N.

P. Sandstrom's; first meeting in October at Nels Peterson's; second meeting in October at Herman Peterson's. SCANDIA, KANS. Miss Regina Maxell and Mr. Oscar Flodberg have been elected delegates to the Annual Convention at Topeka.

The alternates are Miss Hulda Alra-quist and Mr. D. A. Nywall. An invitation from the Luther League at Ada, Kackley, to be present at, and take part in, a program to be in connection with the district mission meeting been received and accepted.

The following are expected to represent our League: Regina Maxell, Hulda Almquist Olson, Oscar Flodberg and D. A. Nywall. ASSARIA. The Luther League meets on Friday evenings every two weeks.

Rev. Sandstedt is president of the League. The English Bible class meets every other week. The class is conducted by Rev and tiv Gospel of St. John is studied.

Anna Pearson and Lillian Olson are elected as delegates to represent our League at the State meeting Topeka. to draw up a constitution to be presented at the next convention. The following officers were elected: Rev. O. M.

Bloom; Robert Berkman; rec. Hilda Widen; cor. Emma Gustafson; Harry Mauritz. Rev. A.

T. Seashore of Minneapolis who has been tendered a call, as instructor at Trinity College, made two addresses, one in Swedish and one in the English language All who had the pleasure of hearing him speak expressed the wish that he accept the call and be with us again soon. Rev. M. Noyd of Rock Island, who is here working in the interest of the Jubilee fund, made an interesting and instructive address on Sunday evening.

His subject was "Retrospects and Prospects. All who attended the Convention expressed themselves as having enjoyed the sessions, and having derived great benefits from them. The good that a convention of this nature can do in bringing the young people together, and inspiring them to greater efforts can hardly be overestimated. We now look forward with anticipation to the convention to be held next year. The visiting Leagues are much in debted to the young people of New Sweden for the hospitable treatment accorded them, and for their work in making the convention so great a success.

LINDSBORG. At the Luther League in the city, Mr. Ernst Magnuson and Miss Malvi-" da Ahlstedt were elected as delegates to the State Luther League Convention, and the Misses Elvira Strom-quist and Mildred Carlson as delegates to the District Convention. The Luther League on the East side has elected the following delegates: To Topeka, Miss Minnie Es-ping and Emil Johnson; to the District meeting, Miss Signe Fornberg and Carl Julius. The West side League has elected the following delegates: To Topeka, Misses Alma Johnston and Esther Anderson, and to the District League Robert Johnson, Ada Norling and Hanna Lindquist.

FALUN. Just as we go to press the sad news arrives that Mrs. Dr. E. P.

Olsson, of Falun, Kansas, has departed from this life. She has been staying at Paxton, Illinois, for some time in order to be near Chicago where she sought medical assistance. Dr. Olsson and the children were with her when she died. May the good and gracious Lord comfort the bereaved.

The Kansas Young Lutheran offers its deepest sympathies. TEXAS. On the 7th, 8th and 9th of August the Luther Leagues within the Austin District of the Kansas Conference held a Convention at New 'Sweden, Texas. This was the first convention ever held by the Leagues in Texas, and was in every respect a great success. Sessions were held at 10:00 a.

3:00 p. and 8:00 p. m. The programs consisting of songs, recitations, instrumental music, and speeches were all interesting and inspiring. The attendance throughout the convention was good.

Especially on Saturday evening and Sunday did large audiences enjoy the programs then rendered. Never before in Texas had so large a gathering of Swedish young people assembled at one place as on this occasion. A large tent or tabernacle with a seating capacity of over 1,000, which was raised for this occasion, could not accommodate the people. At the business meeting held Saturday morning, the formal organization took place. A committee was elected NEW GOTTLAND.

The Luther League has elected Mr. Arthur Rolander and Mr. Martin Burk as delegates to the Conference League Convention in Topeka. The alternates are Mr. O.

E. Rolander and Mr. David Bengtson. The League has also decided to pay the delegates' and the pastor's railroad fare to the Convention. Rev.

Oscar Nelson of Titusville, has been here on a visit with home folks. At the meeting August 19 he addressed the League and brought greetings from the youn'g people here of the former days, among whom he was one. Miss Hanna Lindquist from Linds-borg took part in the program August 19th. Mr. Carl Burk from California has for some time been seen among the young people here.

Miss Mabel Chindberg has spent a part of the summer in Colorado. ARSMOTE. Salina-distriktets Lutherforbund samladcs i Marion Hill, den 25te och 26te augusti till sitt fjortonde arsmote.
