At the present she is better but has not beeu able to return home. T. O. Rrickell came down from Stockton Wednesday to look after his son Newt a few days. Albert Tallmans will soon move to town.

They will live in the house now occupied by Walker McClains. Alfred Pauley has rented Albert. Lala's fine farm in Ash Rock town-ship and will take possession as soon as Albert moves to town. William Jackson has quit working at the City Meat Market and it seeml odd to see the shop without bim. He intends to go soon to Illinois on a visit.

The town boys have a punching pag fixed up now and a few of them seem to be pretty good at pounding it-better at that than at almost any thing else. Walker McClain has quit working for J. M. Stehley and is now with the Dryden Mercantile Company at Stockton. Just at present he is taking a lay off on account of a sprained back.

On account of having sold my farm I will sell or trade one good Woods Binder and a three-tenths interest in the Engler threshing out-fit 1-3. E. LaRue. A good rain fell Monday night and Tuesday night a heavy rain fell which was quite general in this part of the county. There is plenty of moisture in the soil now and the warm weather is making the corn grow wonderfully rapid.

Freeman Alexander accompanied by some boy friends came down from Stockton Tuesday in his Automobile and went down the road as far as Alt6n. Mrs. Alexander came down on the passenger and went back with the boys. They easily outrun the freight from Alton to Stockton. HARDWARE CO.
