Rice resigns at Augusta. Rev. Laslett, pastor of Marysville church was in the city during this month. Mrs. John Shea will soon organize a Mission Band for the children and young people.

Local, Personal and Otherwise. Remember the Rozelle meetings begin ning April 15th. Clifton is one of the test business towns in Kansas. The way the business men of Clifton have encouraged the Visitor, show their willingness to encourage and help any one who is williug to try to help himself and others. Rev.

Rev. A. G. Sawin, another of Clifton's pastors is now pastor in Missouri. Acong the many welcome caller al the parsonage recently, were Jeu-uie Rock and Leta Shea.

Rev. U. C. Neighbor, a return Missionary from Brazil has or will soon assist in special meetings at Parsons, Kan. People from all over the country go to Swenson Bros, to trade, their store is the busiest in the country.

If Christian people would work half as hard to get sinner- to repent, believe and obey the the Gospel as some of them work to get other Christians to believe some new ism, the world would soon be reformed. We have no objections to designating certain work in the church for certain oues to do, but we do en'er our protest against any society in or of the church feeling that they are not a part of nor subject to the church. Evangelist Rozelle is expected to two weeks on Friday at 2 o'clock. For the ye'ir ending April 1, '94 the expense of district "Secretaries and Agencies" of the Foreign Mission Board was $27,049 68, salary and expenses.

Salary and expenses of Executive officers $21,344.00. The salary of three of Executive officers was $11,500.00, this did not include their expenses. The total home expenses for the year was $60,994 51. The total amounts received during the year $864,751 95 The general statistical tables show begin a series of meetings in this (Clifton) church April I5th. The church Thursday evening March 28, voted to discontinue the meetings then in progress uutil the evaugelist comes.

J. D. Matthews has been recalled to the work at Clifton. He and his good wife have begun a church paper which is bright and interesting. Central Baptist, St.

Louis. Rev. J. D. Matthews has recently been recalled to the pastorate at Clifton.

He is doing progressive work for the Baptists in that place. He has just issued a bright, helpful, church paper, of which he and his excellent wife are the editors. The grand totals as follows: Preachers 2,138 Churches 1,612. Baptized in 1893 11,450. Church members 185,228.

Houcaens, pastor of the Baptist church at Washingtou, Ks. passed through the city April 5th on his way to Clay Center. He is one of our ablest and most judicious pastors. Rev. Louis Neil, of Chicago was in the city Wednesday April 3rd and subscribed for the Baptist Visitor.

He is connected with a wholesale establishment in Chicago and is also a zealous worker in rescue work in the slums of his own city. You may hear from him in the colnmns of the Visitor. Willie McCaddon, the two year old son of Mr.

and Mrs. Wm. McCaddon died March 27. The family have the sympathy of the Visitor in their sorrow. None but He who came to bear our griefs and carry our sorrows can give real consolation to those who weep for the dead.
