Mr. Brann moved with his funi'iv to Perry in 1878 wler; he resided until his deatli. In health he was a kind and loving husband and father, and in sickness a patient sufferer. Funeral services were conducted at thf house, Sal-uday, Aug. 15th, at 4 P.

They grew more fond of the ball-room, card table and the society of young men until they were known as the ''meiri-est" girls in the town; soon it was "gayest," and then it got to be "sportiest" girls in the town, and so it went until their society was only sought for their merriment, and by men who had no earnest desires towards them as ladies.

Are we to pity the girls, or to scorn them? Let uf pity them for their mothers' sake. A mother is not always to blame for the down-fall of her daughter but ia this case and many others the aolher is to be blamed for it.
