Ward, lecturer on temperance, astronomy and phrenolosjy, has been with us several days. The professor showed, Sunday, in a temperance address that animals can stand alcohol in proportion to the amount or activity of their brains. Half a drop will make a canary bird crazy but a hog can scarcely be effected by it in any quantity, thus showing that the man who boasts that he can stand so much "tangle foot" simply shows himself brainless.
