R. TAYLOR A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY. Harry McConnell Instantly Killed by a Moving Train, in the Yards at Osawatomie. From (Vawatomic Journal. Last Friday evening the news- that Harry McConnell had been killed, shocked the entire community and little groups of people discussed the horrible affair on the streets, and then carried the news to their homes, so that hundreds of people retirc-that night with hearts that beat in sympathy with the distracted parents who had lost their boy, the pride and hope of their home, in the twinkling of an eye, Harry who was an exceptionally bright boy of fourteen, had been talking to Switchman Curry about borrowing his fish net and it is supposed that in attempting to board the switch engine to ride down in the yards where Curry was working, he fell under the wheels.

This occurred shortly after eight o'clock in the evening. At about 8:20 Switchman llilde-brandt went to throw a switch near the coal chutes, and discovered the mangled remains of the poor boy. The father, J. E. McConnell was at once notified and the remains were taken to Johnson's undertaking rooms where thpy were prepared for burial.

The funeral was held from the family residence at 2 p. m. the day following, after which the burial took place at the Elmdale cemetery. The sympathy of all is extended to the heartbroken parents. Teachers Meeting.
