We have just received some of the nobbiest cards in the county. The sheriff and police kept good order while two roughs had a street fiffht in the presence of 200 people, at Dodge city, recently.

Hewitt Craik and family started for Louisville, on Wednesday. They go to make a visit, and to attend the golden wedding of Mr. Craiks parents The Greenbackers of Riley counts will hold a delegate convention on the 20th instant, put a full ticket in the field, and are sanguine of its being elected. Cash Nelson is now permanently lo cated in Ottawa clerking in the store of Taylor, Baldwin Co. Cash is a good boy, and will make many friends for the firm.

Thomas, formerly assistant postmaster at this place, was in town last week visiting old friends. Frank is head book-keeper for Hasten railroad contractors at Winfield. John Patterson, lately of the firm of Patterson of Ottawa, has rented the room recently vacated by the Review office, and will soon open a bakery and oonfectionery store. During the last four months Haughawout, agent of the State uni versity lands, has disposed of 11,336 acres at an average price of $3.96 per acre, the total amount thus received being 33,611.53. Mr Fairbanks, of Lyndon, Osage county, was in the Burg on Wednesday, called at this office and renewed his subscription.

Mr will hold a public sale of real estate, at his office in Lyndon, on the 25th inst. Johnny Lawrence, formerly in the employ of Bartholow, took a trip to Kansas City this week, to look up a job. He reports the chances good, as he was promised a steady "sit" in the raidroad office the first of next month. Mr John Dyer, of Pomona, was in the Burg Tuesday; Mr it is ex pected, will bo the choice for County Treasurer on the Republican ticket. He is a good man, has a good reputa tion in the town where he resides, and will make a good officer if elected.

We desire to call the attention of parties seeking homes or business looa tions, in Williamsburg or vioinity, to the advertisement of Bartholow in first column of this page. Mr. the resident partner, is a man of ster ling integrity, honorable in all his dealings, and has the entire confidence of the community; and to those who desire to purchase town or country property, we say, give him a call bo- fore looking elsewhere. Ho is agent for more land than any other real estate firm in this part of Kansas. Dictionary, just issued, is believed to he, in the quantity of matter it con tains, by far the largest volume published.

It now contains about 000 words defined, and nearly 15 000 words and meanings not found is any-other one dictionary. The Biographi cal Dictionary, just added, supplies a want long felt by the reader and student, in giving the desired information so briefly. Never was any one volume no complete as an aid in getting an education Concert at Princeton. On Wednesday evening of last week the people of Princeton and vicinity were highly entertained by the cornet band and others, with the assistance of the Williamsburg Quintette Club. The effort of the people was a success, and the house was well filled.

Mrs. Hewitt Craik, organist, filled her position in a praiseworthy manner, and her accompainmentti were all well-executed. The Scotch song rendered by her was appreciated by all. Mrs Dyer has a fine soprano voice aDd carried the audience with her as she sang the "sacred songs." The power of her voice was shown to advantage in "Pilgrim Fathers, and Guide Me! Thou Great Jehovah." The best part of the evening's entertainment was given by little Miss Minnie Dyer, of the Burg. In her rendering of Driven from in costume, Topsy," Courtship of Josiah and "Rollicking Dolly Day," every word was uttered distinctly, so a to be heard in every part of the room.

A bright falure awaits this little singer. A vote of thanks was tendered by the audience to tho Williamsburg singers, and the band boys for their support, and to Mrs Gretehell for her assistance and untiring energy to make tho concert a sucoess, H. V.D. F. A.
