OF THE Richmond School. High School Department. FALL TERM, 1901, A Surprise Party. Last Saturday night was the first time that the Odd Fellows held their lodge meeting in the new hall, and were made the victims of a very enjoyable surprise. About nine o'clock the doorkeeper, Bowman announced that there was a party of ladies at the door seeking admission.

He was told to open the door, when a party of Kebekahs and Odd Fellows' lady friends lead by Mrs R. U. Dinsmore, marched into the hall. Mrs. Dinsmore said that they had come to help dedicate the new hall; her speech was responded to by several of the brothers.

Our property man was instucted to bring out a table which they loaded down with fruit and the most delicious cake, and the brothers were invited to eat, which they did with great satisfaction. After refreshments the visitors favored us with some excellent music. The ladies spent a very pleasant hour with us, and we all agreed that it was the greatest meeting our lodge has had during its twelve years existance. The ladies present were: Mesdames R. U.
