Pratt is a 'Bible student, and having had several years experience in this line of work in connection with his regular pastorate he has become a skilled workman, one "that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." The work continues in the Methodist church Thursday and Friday nights and in the Presbyterian church next week on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. All are cordially invited to attend, and should gladly avail themselves of this opportunity for Bible Study. The lectures are given free, but if any desire to contribute any thing to help pay the expenses of Rev. Pratt, you may hand your contributions to Rev. Edgar.

School Notes. Dr. Speer andthe Rev. Mr. Robinson visited us on Friday of last week.

HI' Our attendance continues to be very broken. 1H i Elmer Spencer spent Tuesday afternoon with the schools. Mrs. Putnam visited us on Wednesday. Hi The Physiology class has been studying some dietary circulars from the United States Department of Agriculture.

The seventh and eigth year classes take the preliminary County examination on the first of next week. W. E. Gaul shipped a car of hogs to Kansas City Thursday. Mr. Little was down from Olathe this week to look at some cattle on the Spears' farm with a view of purchasing.

C. R. Manaugh, who recently sold his farm to Mrs. Jennie Bunn, will have a sale the 22nd and will move to Ottawa soon. A well appointed office is one of the good additions to the Feuerborn liv ery stable that will' be open to the public day and night.

F. S. Sturdevant's baby, Grace, happened to get hold of a can of washing fluid Thursday morning and drank some of it. She was quite sick for a time but has now apparently fully recovered. The new gas lamps for the M.

E. church have arrived and were in place for the Thursday night services. According to Doc Peel's version we are now enabled to see things in a new light. It is certainly a very enjoyable change after vainly trying for some time to see things in the dark. While helping to put up ice the other day for the Logan house John Hooton had the misfortune to have a large cake of ice fall on his foot.

It has caused him a great deal of pain and we suppose that after this Mr. Hooton would prefer to go into cold storage in more moderate doses. The Franklin County Poultry Asso ciation has recently elected the following officers for the ensuing year: President, W. A. Madaris; vice-president, G.

Haynes, Pomona; secretary, L. L. Porter; treasurer, E. II. Tipton; executive committee, Charles Sears, W.

S. Preshaw and Chris Bear-man. Mrs. L. McLaughlin assisted by her son Durward is managing a branch office for an eastern manufacturer, the Rose Jelly Co.

Any one wishing to purchase Rose Jelly will please call ou them. Their office is at their residence, first house west of hotel on the south side of the street. They also have other valuable preparations for sale. On last Saturday night Rev. Ernest Pratt of Wellsville gave a Bible lecture in the Methodist church.
