The fellow who wrote the following must bo a close observer of men's habits: "A nibbler is a man who enters tho grocery store, runs his finger into the sugar barrel and laps up a couple of ounces; eats a handful of nuts, then goes over to the cheese case ami cuts off a slice for a taste; then as a matter of course, must have a few crackers, and perhaps before he has made up his mind to purchase a quarter of a pound of tea he has eaten tho profits on worth of groceries. To wind it all up, after getting trusted for the tea, on which tho merchant realizes a profit of five cents ho loaves the store munching a couple of apples. 1'atrick O'JIare, nn old and respected citizen of Wilson county, died at bin homo near Coyville last Thursday of complication of diseases. He was born in Ireland about (10 years ago, and canio to this country when quite a young man. lie loaves a widow and six children to mourn his loss, Mrs. J. 11.

Alvis of this city, Mrs. Mary Christopher and T. II. Lynch of Kansas City, and three younger ones, who live at home. Mr.

O'llare made a trip to Kansas City a week before his death in hopes of being benefitted by treatment from specialists there, but no hope was held out for his rocovery and he returned home to await the grim messenger. Funeral services wero held at the Catholic church at Xew Albany last Saturday and the remains were followed to thetr last resting place by a largo concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Charles Chadl of Neosho Falls, Kansas. Rev. W. Emerson officiated. Only a few of the bride's relatives and very immediate friends were pres ent.

The bride is a charming and ac complished young lady and has won the respect and ad-miration of all during her residence of about a year in this city. The groom has the reputation of being a very capable and indust rious young man, and is a prosper ous fanner living near Neosho Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Chadd departed on the midnight Missouri Pacific train for Le Roy where they were mat by relatives of the groom.

Nathan Darland died Wednesday evening at his home five miles west of town. His health had been failing for a year, and death was due to kidney trouble. The. de ceased was about 83 years old. Dr.
