The editor was away this week till Thursday noon, which accounts for the shortness of items, and the omission of several that ought to have appeared in this issue. The one who had matters in charge failed to fulfill his agreement, and 'twas too late to get all in type.

Oh, the trials of an editor Our shortness of local matter is in a measure compensated for by the valuable supplement we give this week. The trial of David Manlove for cutting and killing horses of Lewis Adam at Moii month, came off at Girard last Friday anil Saturday, and resulted in his ac-quital. The other charges of burning the store and stealing Dr. Doan's watch were withdrawn and the prisoner discharged. He took the train to Kansis City 8'iortly after.

P. S. Since his discharge some of the citizens, learning that Manlove had paid Dr. Doan for all the damages claimed, waited upon the doctor, and learning the facts insisted that Doan file another complaint, which he did. But as Manlove is gone out of the state it will probably be some time before there can be another investigation.

The public opinion in regnard to these outrages and the guilt of Manlove lias changed quite materially since his trial. Many think the true author of these diabolical deeds lias not as yet been appre-lieudt'd, Auiuurizcu ny me Btnie to treat (prCcuph, lironchltis ana i'nimonary t-ararm, tionj in ten languages aoctmpany vry bot Us. nemiu aua 1'nvale Scminnl Wcaknora ia.ucr),Sexasl 1 It'bili! sstxual SANITARIUM.
