L. A. Fairchild returned, on Monday, from his prospecting tour and informed us he had decided to locate at Almena, Norton county. On Wednesday, he departed for his new field of labor. It is with deep regret that our people see the doctor go, and while wo believe he has madti a mistake, yet we wish him abundant success in his new home.

Wo hear many farmers say that the corn they plowed after the last rain in July made corn, while that which was not plowed after the rain, failed. The only exception to this general tendency is where the cultivator was run too deep, disturbing the small latteral roots. Shallow cultivation after every rain seems to be the thing.
