Most unusual interest was manifested in the performances of the class and the opera house was thronged to its utmost capacity, by an eager and expectant crowd of friends and well wishers of the hour before thf curtain rose. The exercises were opened by a by Miss Lvea Hills to which the class, led by their teacher Prof. J. O. Rodgers, filed in across the 'tssage from the right and were seated on the feft.

The salutatorian, Charlette Cook, in her speech was self possessed and her delivery was graceful. Her oration was strong in thought, good in sentiment and logically arranged. Nora A. Brody had a fine speech. Miss Brody possesses great charm as a speaker.

Her voice was well the rest of the year. Earnie Pierson lost his watch near Oak Creek church Sunday. It was found by Clark Foster's children and Earnie wears a smile again. L. W.

Green was in these parts Monday delivering cream separators for the White Hardware of Burr Oak. Earnest Wilson was in Smith county this week with his parents. Mrs. Syble Burgess visited her father Wm. Helton last week.

J. C. Lamb visited his father southeast of Burr Oak the first of the week. Mrs. Eaks was called to go to see her daughter near Gregory, who is poorly with grippe.

4 Respectfully modulated, her delivery effective and the sentiment cf her address struck a responsive chord in the hearts and minds of her audience. The valedictory was by Leona Lytle. This was a fitting conclusion to the excellent program, for Miss Llytle had a strong production, good in thought and pleasing in delivery. It was evident from the start that the exercises would be a success as the excellent training and thorough preparation of the class gave its numb Zeke Stitcs children are having the measles in good shape. Schools are all out and teachers are fixing for normal and children are having a good time when the days are warm.

LniD Oa Tweedy, the dentist, Lebanon, Kansas, does first class work and satisfaction. Andrew Bonney i relatives and friends here for a few weeks. Iva LaRue got through working for Mr, Morrow Saturpay. Estee Pate owns a little spotted Shetland pony. Bird Pate is now able to bo at his work again after having a trial of the mumps.

My ram McCammon and Philip Moyer was helping on Mr. Bailey, house last week. Mrs. Morrow now has 89 chickens that she hatched out of a hundred egg incubator. HARNESS SHOP We have bought the Shook harness shop and will be glad to have you call and see us.

We have a nice line of buggies, harness, extra bridles, robes, nets, whips, halters, collars, ornaments and everything found in a first class harness shop. Let us do your repairing. Interspersed with the. class orations, I class addresses were delivered by E. D. George of Mankato and Dr. J.

B. Dykes of Lebanon. Both gentlemen are public speakers of renown and showed themselves past masters in the art of addressing high school graduates; their talks being replete with wholesome advice. The Acme quartet consisting of Messrs. M.

J. Beachy, J. A. Campbell, Albert Hawkins and Ed Grauer-holz, is deserving of much praise for the service it rennered. We are proud of the class and the school sentiment of Esbon.

The exercises were better than we have seen in much larger places where the citizenship has grown old, the people have become moderately well to do, and the children snobbish. Nrthbrnnchn. John McNich'oTs and wife attended church at Northbranch Sunday morning. Edgar Craven's team ran away Sunday upsetting the buggy and throwing Msr. Cravens and the baby out No one was seriously hurt.

Some of the young people from here attended the dedication of the Catholic church at Cedcloud last Sunday. Otis Wilcutts and wife are the proud parents of a baby girl. About thirty of the young people gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Dillon to surprise Mrs.

Dillon's brother, Vaden Legget before he left for his new home in Oklahoma. Marvint Reed got mixed up with a run. away team last week and got several ribs broken. -v I carried accident insurance in the Woodman Accident Co. of Lincoln Nebraska, which costs me $8.00 a year and also in the National Benevolent Society of Kansas City, which costs $12 per year.

I put in a claim for 2,3 days total disability to each company and the Woodman Accident Co. paid me $42 while the National Benevolent fjjociety paid me the pitiful sum of $12 for the entire time, and their rates are $4 higher per year than the other company. I will never be without the Woodman Accident Go's protection. But I will not carry the National Benevolent Societey's insurance another day. I give the above statement, of facts, that the public may know what company pays out money as well as receives it.

R. Congleton is quite sick at this writing. Arby Morrow and Mr. Tipton had the misfortune to loose hogs while hauling them to market Tuesday. Ora Mendenqall ang wife have returned to Jewell county.

They have been living in Wichata but think this is tne best place to make a living. Little Robert McCammon has been very sick with pneumonia but is some better at present. Master Guy McCammon of Formoso is visiting his grandparents this week. Otego. I guess that the fruit will not make much of a crop this year.

Estella Pate and her grandfather, Mr. Bolster visited at Kensington last week. M. H. McCammons little baby ha3 been quite sick the past week.
