The subject of this sketch was born in Loston, England in and died December 18, aged f4 years, eleven months and twelve days. Merriam, of Uoston, Samuel, of Topeka, Charley, of JJutte, Ma, Grace and Florcnco, to mourn the death of one of the kindest 'of husbands and tte most Indulgent and loving of parents, together with uutold numbers of friends.

The deceased was an unfaltering member of the Iiaptist church, and the funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church, of this place, by the Rev. W. Huicii'nsun, pastor of the North Topeka Ilaptlst church, and an old friend of lie family, ably assisted by the Ilevs Shut and El-ledge, and the A.

O. IL W. lorie, of this place of which order Mr. Leach-man was a member, belonging to lode No. of Topeka, after which all that was earthly ot Citizen Leach-man was layed to rest in the family burying lot in the Carbotidale cemetery.

Mr. Leaciman was, as we knew him, a man who believed in treating all mankind just and right, a religeous and i rue christian gentleman, ami was always spoken of, by anyone who knew him, as an honest, conscientious religious man, and in losing him the city loses one of its best citizens.
