VOL. 6, NO. 1. JULY, 1918. JEWELL, KANSAS.

Published Monthly by the Citizens State Bank, Jewell, Kansas, for the information of its stockholders and customers. This is Lieut. Ferris E. Pence. He has been spending a few days at home before he goes overseas to drop a bomb on Potsdam or some other German castle.

There are some things that Pence dislikes, he says one of them is to have his picture published. He made some pointed remarks about camouflage or rat poison or something like that, but one sometimes has to overide the military party, I I 'V "(f LIEUT. FERRIS E. PENCE. and so the picture goes into the Booster that its readers may see how Pence looks when he is all dolled up like a Jigadier Brindle.

He has more rings on his harness now than he had when his picture was taken, some gold bars on his shoulders to show that he is a real sure-enough lieutenant, the aviation wings on his left breast, the officer's cord on his service hat, and a whole lot of trinkets that nobody but.
