Stock Sale, Tuesday, July 6. CORRESPONDENCE. Letter from EHIs Connty. As I'm seated under a beautiful shade tree in Hays City, meditating on the last nine years I 6pent in Osborne county, and thinking a short letter might be of interest to my old neighbors, I'll drop it to the Journal. The rears I spent in Oborne county were happy ones, and afford many pleasant recollections which I shall never forget.

I am now located in Ellis county, where I hope for as pleasant a future. Here are great wheat fields, and harvest has commenced. The corn and vegetables cannot be excolled. Frequent showers have made everybody happy this season. hat we have in Hays City.

About 2,000 energetic people. Graded schools of the very best Elegant court house. Two large flouring mills. Three weekly newspapers. Regular city government.

Two substantial banks. Magnificent school buildings, Five handsome church buildings, well attended. Grand halls and opera houses. Three grain elevators. Board of trade of fifty members.

Fine business blocks. An electric light company is now being formed. In lact the city is staying right with the procession, and is foremost in the immense strides which so many wideawake and enterprising Kansas towns are taking. Please do not think me tedious; there is much I could write about, but will close the wishing you all a happy Fourth. E.
